Does your car have an LED light for when your supercharger engages/disengages? How sad your lives must be.

And now I’m confused... I though they always boosted.

He has to push the Turbo Boost when he needs it.

Most superchargers do, but on the MR2's the pulley is clutched, like an AC compressor. It only comes on under certain vacuum. If you drive REALLY easy it never engages and you get better fuel economy. Give it just a little bit more throttle and the green light turns on when the pulley engages.

I drove a friend’s supercharged 3800 Pontiac the other day. It has an LCD boost gauge in the center of the dash.

I would wire up a switch to control the clutch manually and then screw with the driver by engaging and disengaging the supercharger randomly.

Some people do wire up a manual switch but I never saw the point. It would just kill fuel economy, confuse the ECU, and wear out your SC faster.

I was thinking of someone else driving. Give them no boost at all in 1st. turn boost on at 5000 and then off at 7000 in 2nd. toggle it on and off repeatedly in 3rd. Just to screw with them.
